Humans are intrinsically relational. Part of being in relationship with someone is responding when they call. We see “call-response” dynamics played out in all sorts of human events, from sporting events to rock concerts. But we have to ask, where did this come from? What if this dynamic reveals something much deeper about the human person?
Perhaps this call and response is connected to something bigger than ourselves.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that God has made a call to each of us to enter into a relationship with him, and we have the freedom to respond, or ignore it. This is the most important response we can make.
