In this session students learn there are no bad emotions. All emotions give us information that’s important to pay attention to. Emotions can be unpleasant or even overwhelming to experience, but when we think of emotions like waves we remember that emotions will come and go—no feeling is forever. And when feelings are big and overwhelming, we don’t have to handle them on our own.
This session features the story of Tyler, who lives with depression and anxiety. This film is not graphic, but it does include references to abuse, sexual assault, and suicidal ideation. Students who resonate with Tyler’s experience are encouraged to talk to a trusted adult, doctor, or counselor.
