Family is a vital part of being a healthy human. Through our families, we learn who we are, and also how to function as part of a larger group. God knew this and gave us a universal family: The Church. Through the Church, we are given a universal, spiritual family.
This bond with our brothers and sisters in faith is united around love, care, dignity
and mercy. Together, we choose to follow the Lord, and help each other in that journey. But we have the decision to accept this family, the Church and build our lives around it. It’s up to us.
