La creación de Eva del costado de Adán representa el culmen de la obra creadora de Dios, ya que revela el amor conyugal entre Adán y Eva, el cual, de una manera profunda, representa el amor de Dios por el mundo. Sin embargo, el pecado que cometieron causa una ruptura en su amor, tanto en su amor conyugal como en su amor a Dios. No obstante, Dios no permite que esa relación permanezca rota, sino que al asumir el papel del Esposo, Él establece una alianza íntima con Su pueblo. Jesús se hace hombre para salvarnos del pecado y para darnos un amor que perdura para siempre. Ésta es la historia de amor en la que participamos de una nueva forma cuando nos casamos.
