El propósito de realizar una penitencia no es un castigo. Más bien es un signo de reconciliación, un movimiento de nuestra parte para dar gracias por el perdón recibido. La penitencia debe llevarnos a cambiar la forma en que vivimos para evitar los pecados que acabamos de confesar.
