Many Christians just take it for granted that God changes us to bring us closer to Him. But many don’t actually know what it MEANS to be changed — the technical term is “justified” — by God.
The answer isn’t as easy as it sounds; Protestants and Catholics have two different answers to the justification question. It was even one of the major points of disagreement in the Protestant Reformation! Fortunately, I brought in an expert on justification, Dr. James Prothro, to give us a run-down of the problem AND the Catholic answer.
It’s an awesome conversation, and Dr. Prothro is great at making complicated theology simple for the rest of us. Check it out!
