Through the sacrament of Holy Orders, Jesus continues his priestly
ministry to his Church today. At Ordination, a man is anointed to act as Christ's representative
here on earth. There are three degrees of the Sacrament of Holy Orders: Bishop, Priest, and
Deacon. Priests play a unique role in the Church because they, in a special way, are the hands
and feet of Jesus and allow us to receive the sacraments and hear the Word of God proclaimed
to us today.
