The Risen Lord appears for 40 days to reveal the triumph of God’s love over evil, to set their hearts on fire with his interpretation of the Scriptures, to make himself known in the breaking of the bread, and to breathe the Holy Spirit on the apostles - a spirit of pardon and peace. He gave them his Divine Power to forgive sin. He dispels their doubts, increases their faith, and strengthens them in order to send them out to all the nations.
