Artaban (Martin Sheen) is a good-hearted magi, and Orantes (Alan Arkin) is his faithful servant. Following a heavenly sign, the pair journey to find the Messiah, carrying with them three precious gifts. For 33 years they pursue Jesus, missing him at every turn. His gifts used up from helping the needy, Artaban finally encounters Christ on Easter Sunday.
