If your child was doing something that you knew was harmful to them, even possibly fatal, would it bother you? It would be any parent’s greatest heartache. Before we ask what sin is, and without even talking about heaven and hell, we need to ask, why is sin bad for me and my life right now. Or in other words: what does sin do to me, my psychology, the way I think, my heart, my relationships, those around me, and my relationship with God. Then we can begin to understand why sin is God’s greatest heartache.
