Bishops, priests, and deacons all receive an imprint in the sacrament of Holy Orders that cannot ever be removed, but play three distinct roles in the sacramental life of the Church. Deacons can say baptism and witness marriages. Priests can celebrate the Eucharist, hear Confessions, and anoint the sick. And bishops can ordain new priests and are the typical minister of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
