Many Catholic cemeteries offer free burial services for families who experience a miscarriage or the death of a newborn.
Catholics believe that human life is sacred from conception to natural death. As such, many Catholic cemeteries participate in a pregnancy or infant loss program.
At no cost to families who lose a baby in utero or at birth, the cemetery reverently buries their child. Additionally, some cemeteries may offer Masses or other special services remembering the souls of the little ones who have died. In doing so, these cemeteries acknowledge and respect the grief of families suffering from a miscarriage.
