Stigma is often misunderstood or neglected in discussions about mental health, yet a majority of those living with mental health problems report experiencing it in one form or another. In this film you will meet Simone, who lives with schizophrenia—a complex biochemical brain disorder that can impact the way a person thinks, feels, communicates, and perceives reality, and that often includes experiences of psychosis. Simone shares movingly about her journey to self-acceptance and self-advocacy, while our experts reflect on the gospel’s ability to break down the lies that stigmatize mental health problems and fracture faith communities.
