Las heridas son las que comúnmente dañan a un matrimonio. Una herida es una experiencia de falta de amor. La herida causa dolor, que a la vez causa una sensación de temor, que a la vez conduce a la persona a cierto comportamiento con el fin de evitar ese dolor. Por lo tanto, una auténtica experiencia de amor, es decir, una bendición de Dios o de otra persona, confronta este sentimiento de dolor. Una bendición provoca que una persona se sienta amada, que a la vez provoca la gratitud y la seguridad en ella, que a la vez provoca expresiones de amor.
