Por medio del sacramento de las Órdenes Sagradas, Jesús mantiene hoy en día su santo ministerio hacia la Iglesia. En la ordenación, un hombre es ungido para actuar como representante de Cristo en la tierra. Hay tres diferentes grados del Sacramento de las Órdenes Sagradas: Obispo, Sacerdote y Diácono. Los sacerdotes tienen un rol único en la Iglesia, porque son, de manera especial, las manos y pies de Jesús: nos permiten recibir los sacramentos y escuchar la Palabra de Dios, proclamada a nosotros hoy.
