At least, that's the interpretation of one of the bishops who was at the Council, Karol Wojty_a. But why should we listen to him? After all, there were plenty of bishops at the Council and so many Vatican II voices with their own opinions and interpretations. Well, we should listen to Wojty_a because he became the Pope—and not just any Pope. As John Paul II, he led the Church through the tumultuous post-Vatican II times for more than 26 years. So, he especially knows what he's talking about.
