Often called "The Theologian's Gospel," St. John's account of the life of Christ is the fruit of decades of contemplation and love. Beginning with the mystical prologue, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (Jn 1:1), St. John's Gospel highlights many events of Christ's life that are not found in the other three Gospels, like the Wedding at Cana, the Bread of Life Discourse, the raising of Lazarus, and the appearance of the risen Christ to St. Mary Magdalene. St. John's Gospel draws readers into the depth of the love and mystery of the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us.
