It is important to take sin seriously because Jesus takes sin seriously. Sin wounds the heart of Christ, offends God, and wreaks havoc on human relationships. However, sin is not a stumbling block for God’s love. In fact, perhaps it is the opposite. God has mercy and compassion towards sinners. In the Scriptures it says that Jesus has come for the sinner, the sick and the broken. Too often people believe that God could not possibly love or forgive them. But God is more powerful than sin. Jesus came to earth to break the power of sin and death and set sinners free. Since Jesus can for sinners, so it is important to identify personal sin and realize that Jesus comes to rescue from that sin.
