Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati: Man of the Beatitudes by Fr. Tim Deeter
Born in 1901 in Turin, Italy into a family of wealth and status, Pier Giorgio enjoyed close friends, hiking and skiing, museums and music, and was involved in political action. He found that deep prayer, service to the poor, and a passion for bringing others to Christ led to a life of purpose, peace, and happiness. Pier Giorgio died at the age of 24 on July 4, 1925. He was beatified on May 20, 1990 by Pope St. John Paul II who referred to him as a "man of the beatitudes".
